High potential and gifted education
At Croydon Public School, we aim to provide meaningful and personalised learning experiences for every student. Differentiated tasks, flexible pacing and varied levels of complexity help students engage deeply with their learning. Students have opportunities to engage in higher-order thinking, inquiry and cross-curricular projects—like our Broadcasting program—while being supported with explicit teaching of critical and creative problem-solving skills. Ongoing formative assessment, along with genuine opportunities for student voice, allows learners to set goals, influence aspects of their learning and reflect on their progress.
We provide a wide range of opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop skills and shine in many areas. These include academic enrichment through debating, public speaking and STEM lessons; creative and performing arts experiences such as school musicals, music ensembles and visual arts showcases; sporting opportunities through PSSA programs and GALA days; as well as leadership, peer mentoring, and wellbeing programs that support inclusion, confidence and personal growth.
Across all learning areas, Croydon Public School strives to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can explore, take risks and grow through targeted feedback and reflection.
